DESCRIPTION

This one-hour webinar introduces attorneys to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) as applied within legal research and practice. The content highlights the evolution from traditional keyword-based search methods to advanced AI tools, emphasizing the importance of crafting effective prompts to achieve precise and insightful results. Practical demonstrations will illustrate how AI can enhance legal research efficiency.           

Additionally, the webinar addresses ethical considerations, referencing the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, including Rule 1.1 (Competence), Rule 1.6 (Confidentiality), Rule 3.3 (Candor Toward the Tribunal), and Rule 5.3 (Responsibilities Regarding Nonlawyer Assistance), to ensure responsible integration of AI into legal practice.

Andy Fredericks is the Regional Vice President for Veritext Legal Solutions in the Mountain Region, overseeing operations across seven states. He focuses on organic growth, client experience, employee development, and industry innovation. Since joining Veritext in 2014, Andy has held leadership roles including Account Executive, National Director of Reporter Engagement, and Director of Operations in California. His broad industry experience, paired with a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Rutgers Executive Leadership Program training, equips him to drive advanced management and technology initiatives. A frequent speaker, he has contributed to CEU and CLE programs nationwide. 


Megan Carosi is Director of Sales for Veritext Legal Solutions in the Mountain Region, where she leads the sales team across seven states. With more than a decade of sales leadership experience, she focuses on strategic growth, client experience, and building high-performing teams. At Veritext, Megan works closely with law firms and litigation teams to provide solutions that support the evolving demands of discovery and litigation. She regularly presents CLE programs nationwide, sharing insights on emerging trends, technology, and best practices shaping the litigation process.


An application for 1.00 "ethics" CLE hour has been submitted to the Idaho State Bar.
